About

Our goal is to be a good neighbor, as we have been since the 1960s.  That’s why we’re committed to a transparent and collaborative process for incorporating community feedback into developing this project. We’re also dedicated to implementing additional safeguards, including a 24 hour hotline in case any issues or questions arise.

Here’s how our proposed project would work:

Clean, separated food scraps are delivered

Trucks will be routed on existing, approved truck routes.

The Food Scraps Are mixed in with wood chips

The wood chips act as a bio-filter and work to block odors.

The wood Chips & food scraps are moved to outdoor bins

The pile is then covered in another layer of wood chips. This facility will use aerated static piles, which means they don’t need to be turned, further reducing any risk of odor escape.

The piles are Aerated

This helps maintain the proper temperature and accelerates processing times, which keeps critters away.

Compost is then distributed for agricultural and landscape use

The compost is shipped off-site and provides a clean, nutrient rich base for soil.
